Warm Moments for Wet Days

Updated: Apr 24, 2021

Ways to get into

the holiday spirit!

It’s beginning to look a lot like.. well, just another rainy day in Taipei! With wet weather every day of December so far ( and the next ten days on the forecast looking like just one big rain cloud) it’s been an awfully dreary start to the holiday season.

While I’m still not sure how much merriment I have the ability to make in terms of planning big Christmas parties or extravagant gifts, I’m settling for creating and appreciating super small moments of warmth.

Something relatively minuscule in my day, switching on twinkling fairy lights, lighting a candle, or sprinkling cinnamon in my coffee can make me feel greatly different.

And of course the holiday spirit of giving has endless possibilities. There are so many opportunities to give back to others, contribute to charities, or buy gifts for children in need ( contact me if you are interested in providing a present for the Secret Santa at Harmony Home Foundation Taiwan).

Last weekend, Zumba Instructor Cindy Lin organized a wonderful charity dance party 從心出發 for the Taiwan Foundation for Rare Diseases. Before we began to dance , children from the foundation gathered on stage dressed in festive clothes and accessories alongside their caretakers. As they sang Christmas carols, the pure joy radiating out of each face could outshine any damp day and melt even the Grinch’s heart.

Whether your holiday plans are big or small, your spirits high or low, I hope you can squeeze in some moments that warm your heart in these final weeks of 2020!

Keep moving!

xx,

Katie
