Reflect to Reset!


Ready to Reboot Your Routine?





The unofficial end of summer has come already! 🤯



There seems to be predominately two camps of people:  those who celebrate as summer winds down, embracing all things pumpkin spice and sweater weather, and those who feel like September is the equivalent of Monday Blues on steroids (personally I’m a bit of both!). 



Regardless of your position, most of us can agree that those “first day of school” feelings from childhood– new books, new pencil cases, new schedules– can make September as good of a time to get a fresh start on habits as January 1st (maybe even better!). 



When people ask me what my advice is to making movement a bigger part of their lives, I always start with this : KNOW YOURSELF FIRST– what already works for you, what you enjoy, what you struggle with, your why, and more.



So, before you set out to completely overhaul your routine, try taking time to think on or journal about some of my Routine Reboot questions below!



  1. What physical activities brought me the most joy this summer?


  2. Were there moments when I felt strong or confident in my body?


  3. What habits or routines did I find most beneficial, enjoyable, or proud of?


  4. Were there times when I felt stressed or overwhelmed? How did I cope?


  5. How much time a week did I commit to self-care and rest?


  6. What are my fitness goals for the rest of the year?


  7. What type of workouts do I enjoy the most and have access to? (online, solo, outdoor, group settings, etc.)


  8. How much time can I realistically spend each day on my fitness?


  9. What are my biggest obstacles to achieving my fitness goals? How can I overcome them?


  10. How will the quality of my life and relationships improve as I  work towards (not only just reach!) my goals ?



Don’t know the answers? 



Experiment, make mistakes, and laugh at yourself while you try. The answers will likely change over time anyway!
