Embrace THIS to reach your health goals this year!

Weâve officially slid into the Year of the Snake!
 I hope that you all had a fantastic holiday filled with delicious meals, warm moments with loved ones, and plenty of rest! And for those who kept dancing with me for online classes during the break, congrats again on maintaining joyful movement each day!
Whether you moved a little, a lot , or like me --Â somewhat less than normal, this first week back after the Lunar Holiday might feel a bit rough! Perhaps there is work to catch up on, extra responsibilities to attend to at home, or a stressful feeling of urgency to âundoâ holiday indulgences. These feelings of overwhelm often result in pushing off a return to our healthy habits or burning out too quickly.
 If any of that feels familiar, take a deep breath and consider embracing the energy of the Year of the Snake ahead -- one often associated with wisdom, intuition, and transformation.Â
Wisdom
SMART Goal Setting:Â Set Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound goals for yourself. Instead of simply saying "I want to get fit," try "I will attend 2 Zumba classes per week for the next month."
Intuition
Get curious!: Approach your health goals this year through the lens of self-discovery. What new fitness activities bring you joy? What healthy foods do you actually enjoy eating? Experiment and discover what works for you without judgment.
Transformation
Shedding the Old: Just as a snake sheds its skin, think about the beliefs or habits that might be standing in the way of you reaching your goals. Are you comparing yourself to others? Are you engaging in negative self-talk? What do you want to leave behind in order to reach your goals?
