My Fab Fall Fix

Ready to fall back into a cozy and comfy routine!






I'm still riding high on gratitude after my fantastic quick trip back to the US! 🥰



The laughs and the love filled my tank on up, and all those Philly treats (cheese steaks, pizza, soft pretzels and water ice galore!) filled me up even more! ;)



Now that the holidays and summer fun are REALLY in the rearview mirror, at least for a while, I feel my body searching for the rhythm of consistent routine that I had before summer break. 



At the same time, I know that October usually sees me craving coziness and comfort -- which can sometimes look like missed workouts, TV binges on the couch, and finding any excuse to have "just one more" treat.



How to embrace the season while bringing back the energy, strength and endurance I'm after?

Awesome Autumn Walks -  The leaves don’t exactly change colors in Taipei, but there are still signs that the season should be soaked up outside!  Just this morning, the slightly cooler temps made for an idyllic stroll in my neighborhood.  Whether it's to notice beautiful foliage or get out to smile at neighbors, even a slow walk can burn calories and boost feelings of wellness and calm.



Natural Yums - Shorter, cooler days lend themselves to warm, delicious eats. Instead of reaching for the sugary pre-made pumpkin spice goodies which never seem to fill me up, I feel far more satisfied when I have a hand in preparing my own food. Roasting pumpkin with nutmeg, baking apples with cinnamon, or popping my own popcorn and topping it with nutritional yeast are all super simple, few ingredient treats that hit the spot.



Liven Up the Living Room - In the fall, my inner homebody reappears. The living room doesn't have to be synonymous with lazily lounging in front of a screen like a zombie though. Keep things lively!  I store a foam roller, yoga mat and dumbbells in a box in my living room corner. Whether stretching while engrossed in a favorite show, or bonding with a loved one while dancing together to my Fabulous Fall On-Demand Zumba Classes, nothing beats a home workout when it comes to convenience!



Say No More Often (But Yes to Sleep!)--  Sandwiched between the summer cookouts and the end of the year holiday parties, this is my time to recharge my social batteries by saying "no" more often to invitations in favor of more rest. Small actions like lighting a candle, doing an adult coloring book for a few minutes, or making my favorite non caffeinated tea help get me in the mood for bed, lead to less cranky mornings and better adherence to my desired health habits.
