Ready to keep the Momentum Going?

"In like a lion, out like a lamb.”

Many of us have heard this saying used to describe the fierce forecasts that welcome the month of March hopefully 🤞fading into gentle spring-like weather by month-end.

As we are about to head into March, I also think about the strong energy I’ve been seeing in classes! 🦁 More lively, bright, new faces have filled our dancefloors as so many use that post-Lunar New Year motivation to (re)start their wellness habits. I seriously LOVE that extra dose of novelty and renewed vitality!

But as the weeks pass, it’s natural that some of our initial enthusiasm wanes– from having overdone it, from “life” getting in the way, frustrations with our progress, boredom and more. Before we know it, we’d rather stay at home curled up on the sofa like a little lamb, rather than dragging ourselves to class. 🐑

This week, let's take a moment to check in with ourselves and to make sure we stay aligned with the  vision of wellness that is unique to each one of us.

Here are three key questions to ask yourself as we head into March:

  • Get Curious: What's worked for you so far? Think about the past few weeks. What did you enjoy? What made you feel good?  Maybe you discovered a new recipe, or perhaps you found that morning workouts energize you more than evening ones.  Getting curious about your experience is key to building sustainable habits.

  • Give Yourself Credit: Acknowledge your wins, no matter how small! Did you make it to class even when you were tired? Did you go to bed early one night instead of scrolling? Celebrate these victories!  And if you enjoy rewards, choose ones that align with your goals. A new workout outfit, a relaxing massage, or a more comfortable pillow can keep up your excitement about new habits without leading to feelings of guilt.

  • Remember Your Why: Why did you decide to prioritize your health and wellness in the first place? Was it to boost your energy levels?  To improve your overall health? To be more active with your family?  Connecting with your "why" will help you stay focused and committed when things get tough.

Ready to keep the momentum going? March’s All Access Zumba Package is about to start with a special new 30 minute Dancing Diva class added to my library! And for those of you in Taipei, grab your spot for class while you still can!

Keep moving!

xx,

Katie
