Feel Like You’ve Got No Time?

Try these 6 tips to create more me-time!

It’s already 2023. It’s already March. It’s already Wednesday! Where does the time go?!?

One of the major obstacles to creating a fitness and wellness routine that gets off the ground and keeps on running is, you guessed it, time! It can feel impossible to find time for all the things on your to-do list, much less make time for yourself.

We often put off time for ourselves thinking it will eventually come .. one day when we have less work, when the holidays finally come or when retirement comes around.

How can we start making time for ourselves and our wellness NOW?!

Try these tips for creating more time for yourself!

  1. Evaluate the importance of the things on your to-do list. ( Hint* - If you don’t have your health, you won’t be able to get to anything else on your list!)

  2. Start saying “No!” - No one likes the feeling of disappointing others, but overextending yourself at your own expense leads to burnout and resentment. Saying “no” takes practice, give it a try!

  3. Ask for help! We sometimes think asking for help means there is something wrong with us, or even that if we just do things by ourselves we can better control their outcomes. Give others the opportunity to support you.

  4. Let go of perfection! Think you have to do it all to make it look like you have it all together? Perfection in every area of life is just not possible for any of us. Remember, there is such a thing as “good enough.”

  5. Schedule your “me” time into your calendar. Make a date with yourself whether it be for quiet time or to make it to Zumba class. Set boundaries and let the people in your life know that except for emergencies, taking this time for yourself is a nonnegotiable.

  6. Cut down time mindlessly scrolling on electronics and binge watching programs. You’ll be amazed by the time that frees up!

Truthfully all of these tips for making time for yourself are easier said than done. Personally, I struggle with #2,4, and 6 most often! On any given day or for every week, I need to remind myself to purposefully practice one or more. However, as with anything, over time this practice helps to build new habits!

What are your biggest challenges to finding time for yourself?

Always grateful for the time you take reading these newsletters and coming to class! 🥰

Keep moving!

Xx,

Katie
